special needs

Supplying bespoke computer systems (hardware and software) to students with special needs at universities within Great Britain is a key area of our business. In collaboration with several Access Centres and Disability Units at various universities we have helped a great number of students to compete on more equal terms with their peers through the provision of customised computer solutions.

We are proud to announce that we are a DSA-QAG accredited Supplier which has fully met the Quality Assurance Framework during a recent audit. This framework, as set out by the Disabled Students Allowances Quality Assurance Group (DSA QAG), defines the stringent Service Level Agreement (SLA), that we comply with, for the supply of specialist IT equipment to DSA-funded student within Great Britain.

We are also a founder member of the British Assistive Technology Association, an organisation which aims to raise awareness of Assistive Technology, lobby for the rights and interests of those needing Assistive Technology, and to provide expert and impartial support and advice to government departments and agencies.

Solutions start at the specification stage and are carried all the way through to training on the use of the systems, home-delivery, installation of the systems and, of course, aftercare.

Specialist solutions for dyslexics have included the use of voice recognition software, screen-reader software, phonetic spell-checkers, electronic dictionaries, mind-mapping software, all running on tailored PC and Mac systems that will meet the demands placed on them not only by the above specialist software but also by more general software titles required by the student to successfully complete the course.
